Continuing with the best images from my Spring 2012 classes, today I am posting the Top Ten images from AVT 354 Digital Photo Techniques. Students used both digital and film input to produce images through a hybrid digital workflow. Throughout the semester they created multiple series’, working on both editing and concept building.

I just finished designing the poster for Susana Raab’s visit to George Mason University and am excited that this upcoming Monday, on April 23rd, Focus Group, GMU’s photography student organization, is sponsoring her public lecture.
I am very grateful to have the opportunity to host Susana in order that she may impart her experiences and work to GMU’s students.

On Thursday, November 3rd, George Mason University’s photography student organization, Focus Group, will be hosting visiting artist / photographer / lecturer Eli Meir Kaplan.
Eli and I were published in the same 2007 issue of PDN, but it wasn’t until the week of Barack Obama’s inauguration in 2009 (we were both in DC to witness / photograph the zaniness of the event and to view Robert Frank’s The Americans at the National Gallery of Art) that we met for the first time.
Thankfully, I have the opportunity to host him on an academic platform so that he can present and discuss the nature of his photographic work to not only the Mason community, but the greater DC Metro populace.
The following is a link to one of Eli’s shoots via the Wall Street Journal: http://blogs.wsj.com/photojournal/2009/12/28/looking-a-miffed-horse-in-the-mouth/
